

Robert (Bob) Dickinson passed away on July 2, 2022 at his home in Lake Helen, FL. He was born on August 17, 1930 in Brockton, MA to Clyde and Ella Dickinson and moved to Florida in 1968. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1948, Bentley College in Boston in 1956, and served in the US Naval Reserve from 1951 to 1959. He retired from SunTrust after a 44-year career in banking. He is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Beverly, son Paul (Tiffany) Dickinson, daughters Jane (Jimmy) Sneddon, Amy (Scott) Long, Laura Gill, and Marsha Dickinson, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother, Arthur (Elaine) Dickinson and many nieces and nephews.
On their 25th wedding anniversary in 1979, Robert and Beverly took their first of many cruises. In 1983 they purchased a mountain home in Burnsville, NC, where they spent their summers for 33 years and were active workers at West Burnsville Baptist Church.
Bob loved the Lord and faithfully served in churches wherever he lived. He held many titles: Deacon, Treasurer, Elder and Trustee. He was currently a member of Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City, FL. He loved his country and after retirement spent time in all 50 states especially enjoying cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. He loved the outdoors, working in his yard, boating, and camping.
There will be a graveside service at 2PM, on Sunday July 10, at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to VITAS Hospice, 1105 Saxon Blvd, Suite 100, Orange City, FL 32763.
