Stephen Voss Gonnella

Stephen was married in 1974 to Vickie Gilbert. During their 51 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling and serving in their church and watching their family grow.

Stephen was a member of Volusia County Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, and in the orchestra. He had a passion for music and especially playing his tuba. Playing tuba for 60 years awarded him the title "Mr. Tuba". He wore that name proudly. He served as orchestra leader for the Saint Cloud Fl Orchestra, had the privilege of playing his tuba in the Very Merry Tuba Christmas orchestra at Disney, and played with other various groups as well as church orchestras over the years.

Stephen loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends as often as possible. He had a great sense of humor and a loving heart. His greatest delight was his family, especially his son, daughter-in-law, and two wonderful grandsons he dubbed as The Dynamic Duo who gave him his favorite title "Papa"

His passing has left a big void in his family, but they know Stephen loved The Lord and knew Him as his Savior so they will see him again someday.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie, son, Stephen, daughter-in-law, Lauren, grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas, brothers, David Gonnella (Judith), John Kelly Jr (Helen), Philip Kelly, Andrew Kelly (Susie), sisters, Crystal Mozingo (John), Kathleen Moore (Robert), brother-in-law, Charles Gilbert (Lisa), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stephen Gonnella, beloved Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, Uncle, and Friend. He will be forever in our hearts.

A visitation for Stephen will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Volusia County Baptist Church, 261 S Orange Ave, Orange City, FL 32763. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 261 S Orange Ave, Orange City, FL 32763. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
