Bill's Biography
Bill was born in a small tov-m in West Virginia. He spent a lot of time on the Bowers' farm as a child. He had a very close relationship with his Grandmother Maudie. He went to barber school and worked in his hometown giving the best
flat tops ever! He married his wife Kay and spent 51 Y2 years together. They had one child Kellie, who was the love of his life. He moved with his family to Florida in 1971, and worked at Florida Power and Light, where he had many lasting
friendships. Bill still has many friends from his hometown also. He has always been a friend and big help to everyone he came in contact with. He had a knowledge of how to repair and build almost everything, from plumbing, electric,
and carpentry. He is the smartest man we know. He had two grandchildren, Christopher and Tessa, who he loved and fathered when their father died. He had a great influence and impact on their lives. He lived for his family. He had
heart attacks and heart surgeries, but he kept going and never gave into the disease. He is the strongest man in our life. He had four great-grandchildren; Avery, Aleya, Aubrey, and Karissa. He attended all of their births as he was so proud and happy. He was forced to retire in 1993 with severe heart disease, but he kept his health problem hidden from family and friends, always had a smile on his face, and made everyone he came in contact with smile too. His fellow co-workers
said he was never angry with them, and his children said they could always rely on him as a friend and truly invested in them personally. His daughter was having medical problems this past year and he tried to support her through her surgeries,
until the last one in December when he was too weak. His illness was more than he could conquer starting January and he fought the most courageous battle that he could not overcome January 30th• He was the love of his sister Darlene, his
wife, his child, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There will be a void in all of our lives. Bill will surely miss us, his banjo, and his bluegrass music, that he spent hours playing. He will be playing his banjo in heaven for sure.
