Elton Merle Johnson, 88, passed away February 8, 2018. He was born December 1, 1929 in New Albany, Indiana and resided in Jacksonville, Florida. Elton owned a bakery and all the family eventually contributed and worked the business through the years. When he moved from Indiana to Florida, he became a bakery manager for Publix before he retired. He loved spending time with his family, traveling to grandchildren’s soccer games, along with golfing and fishing in his spare time. Everyone remembers Doris and Elton always holding hands everywhere they went. Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of 66 years; Doris Johnson, children; Nelson Ray Johnson (Brenda) and Amy Louise Brinkworth (Jeff). He also had a daughter in-law Pam Johnson (Richard). Preceding his death, he had two sons, Dwight Elton Johnson and Kenneth Wayne Johnson. He also, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
