Gerald Tucker

TUCKER Gerald E. Jerry Tucker, age 78, of Orange Park, died peacefully at home Sunday after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Tucker resided in Northeast Florida for more than forty years, after having relocated from Massillon, Ohio. Gerald is survived by his wife, Geri, a daughter, Susan, a son, Neal (Emily), a step daughter, Jan, a step son, Buzz (Mendy), four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June. Gerald received a Bachelors degree from the University of Akron s College of Business Administration and a Doctoral degree from the University of Akron s School of Law. Mr. Tucker was a member of both the Florida and the Ohio Bar Associations. He was retired from Shands Jacksonville Medical Center. Dr. Tucker, as his students referred to him, was a professor at Jones College for forty years and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his students. Gerald was a member of the Orange Park United Methodist Church and was also a member of The Greentown, Ohio, Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL with family to receive friends one hour prior to service.
