Isabel Douglas Latham

Isabel Latham passed away April 17, 2016. Isabel was the daughter of the late Eloise and Spalding Smith. She was born July 21, 1927 in Gainesville, Florida. Isabel is survived by her husband, Ben, of 67 years (and sweethearts since they were 12), sons; Ben III (Beth), John (Clare) and Mike (Melinda), along with nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, brothers Steve Smith and Jimmy Smith and a slew of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a fourth son; Steve,and her sister Eloise. Isabel and Ben founded Latham Real Estate in 1975 and ran that business until their retirement in 2011. She touched many lives with her generosity, kindness and professionalism, and many of you no doubt remember their popular Christmas parties. She supported her husband's 30 year Naval career and was instrumental in his and their sons' successes, and those of many others. A celebration of her life will be held on April 25th at Grace Episcopal Church at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to an organization that supports our veterans.
