John Vernon Gainey

John served in the United States Navy on the USS Yosemite and worked as a welder in the Jacksonville area for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and celebrations with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon Gainey and Mary Alice McGath Gainey; sister, Ann Gainey Register; and survived by his wife of 43 years Lois Miller Gainey; son, Joseph Patrick Gainey of Clinton, North Carolina; sister, Brenda Gainey of Clinton, North Carolina; three stepchildren, Noreen Miller Ewig of Jacksonville, Florida, Anitra Miller Jones of Nahunta, Georgia, Tommy Miller Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, two grandchildren; Joseph and Amber Gainey of Clinton, North Carolina; and one great-grandchild,Tonya Gainey of Clinton, North Carolina.
