

On July 12, 2017, a precious soul went to walk the streets of gold in the presence of the Lord. Monica LeAnn Shockley, beautiful daughter, sister, wife, and mother was earth bound for 39 years. She was a loving wife to Sherman Shockley, mother to Grayson Shockley, daughter of Rodger and Beth White, sister to Johnny and Jennifer White, Pedro and Labett Guzman, Christopher and Tiffany White, and Brandon and Britany Hammack.
Born on September 13th, 1977, in Flomaton, Alabama, Monica began her journey after 57 minutes of labor. She pushed through life at full speed. She was a cheerleader in high school, attended Troy University where she obtained a Bachelor's degree. She went on to earn two Master's degrees. Monica worked as a juvenile probation officer, a principal of a level 10 school, and opened two day cares before finding her calling as a teacher. Monica loved reading, spending time with her Grayson, and most recently developed a passion for cooking.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 15th, at 6pm at Little Talbot Island State Park, 11009 Heckscher Dr, Jacksonville, Florida 32226
A second celebration will be held in honor of her 40th birthday in Flomaton, Alabama on September 13th. Time and place are TBD.
