

Robert Edwin (Bob) Ritchie, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Orange Park on Monday June 29, 2015. Mr. Ritchie was born on October 14, 1927 in Chicago Illinois to George and Bealuah Ritchie. As a boy he attended Allendale School for Boys in Chicago.
Mr. Ritchie enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945. He was a chief metalsmith in Squadron VP 45 and served proudly for 23 years. After retiring from the Navy Mr. Ritchie owned and operated B & J Woodwork in Orange Park for many years. Mr. Ritchie was a talented craftsman and fine cabinet maker.
Mr. Ritchie is preceeded in death by his parents, sisters Gene, Charlotte, Marian, Catherine, Ruth and brother George, granddaughter Mary Catherine.
Mr. Ritchie leaves to mourn his loss his devoted and loving wife of 62 years, Leatha. Three children: Bruce (Cheryl), Mike (Angie) and Lynda (Russell). 9 Grandchildren: Clint, Amy, Jeremy, Mike, Chris, Brian, Jessica, Elizabeth and Will; and 17 Great Grandchildren.
A remembrance and celebration of his life will be Monday, July 6 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 16 College Drive, with Pastor Carlos Otero and Pastor Pat Turner- Sharpton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM - 11:00AM with a funeral service being conducted at 11:00AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
