Roy Gene Pike, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 19, 2025, at the age of 87, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 29, 1938, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Russell L. and Eula Mae Pike, Roy’s life was a reflection of his deep love for his family, his faith, and his many passions.
Roy was married to his beloved wife, Janice Marie Pike, for 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Lisa M. Reyna and Jennifer J. Lowder (Charles), and a proud grandfather to Crystina M. Rasool (Jamel), Kristen M. Lowder, Curtis A. Lowder (Carlee), and Anthony J. Reyna. His great-grandchildren, Aiden A. Rasool and Ava A. Rasool, brought him immense joy. He loved his family deeply, especially his girls and grandchildren, and they will forever carry the warmth of his love in their hearts.
Roy's career in the construction industry was marked by hard work and dedication. He began his journey as a Short Haul Driver and eventually rose to become Supervisor of the construction plant. His work ethic and reliability were unmatched, but it was his personal touch that made him beloved by all. One of his fondest memories was driving his daughters in his concrete truck, a moment they will always cherish.
A man of many interests, Roy had a passion for archery, NASCAR, motorcycles, and movies, particularly sci-fi and horror films. He was a proud collector of NASCAR model cars, and his favorite film was the classic The Thing. His interests were as varied as his love for life, and he always shared these passions with those around him.
Roy served his country with honor in the United States Army, serving nine years, including time in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966 and always carried a deep sense of patriotism and duty throughout his life. His faith was also a cornerstone of his life, and he was a believer who took solace in his religious beliefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell L. and Eula Mae Pike; his son-in-law, Juan A. Reyna; his brothers, Harold M. Pike and Billy L. Pike (Violet); his sister, Jessie Graham; his sister-in-law, Dottie S. Pike; and his brother-in-law, Carl Graham.
Roy is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Janice Marie Pike; his daughters, Lisa M. Reyna and Jennifer J. Lowder (Charles); his grandchildren, Crystina M. Rasool (Jamel), Kristen M. Lowder, Curtis A. Lowder (Carlee), and Anthony J. Reyna; his great-grandchildren, Aidan A. Rasool and Ava A. Rasool; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to [chosen charity] in his honor.
Roy’s legacy of love, faith, and family will forever be cherished. He may be gone from this world, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Roy, you will never be forgotten.
