Armando Rodriguez

Armando Rodriguez Sr. passed away on April 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, he was a skilled welder by trade and a hardworking provider who dedicated his life to ensuring the well-being and happiness of those he loved most.

Armando shared a beautiful and enduring marriage of 65 years with his beloved wife, Genoveva Rodriguez. Their love story began in their youth, as classmates in elementary school in Tampico, Mexico. Little did they know then that their paths would lead them back to one another, and that they would later marry and build a life rooted in love, resilience, and family.

He leaves behind his cherished children: Genoveva (Daniel) Mendez, Minerva (Sixto) Tamayo, Armando (Patricia) Rodriguez Jr., and Ricardo (Laura) Rodriguez Sr. He was a proud grandfather to Claudia, Iliana, Michelle, Vanessa, Arianna, Joseph, Ryan, Amanda, Ricardo Jr., and Isabella, and a loving great-grandfather to Sharif, Adrian, Patrick, Nia, Maya, Ava, Sofia, and Ricardo III.

Armando’s journey began in Tampico, Mexico, where he was born and raised. In the late 1950s, he immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity. He later returned to Mexico, where he married the love of his life, Genoveva. They were married in the 1960s and soon after returned to the United States, where they planted roots and built a strong, close-knit family that remains his lasting legacy.

Armando will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. His life was a testament to hard work and sacrifice.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W 143rd St, Orland Park, IL on April 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Morning Prayer service will be held at Orland Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 8:30 am to 9:00 am prior to Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Michael Catholic Church, 14327 Highland Ave, Orland Park, IL on April 20, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
