Dana Frances Hallgren

Hallgren, Dana F. 27, of Orland Park, lived a truly joyful life from her birth on Good Friday, April 17, 1987 until her peaceful passing on Friday, September 5. She was born to Richard and Joan Hallgren (nee Davey), in Oak Lawn, IL. She was an unconditionally loving daughter and beloved sister of Erik (Kristin), Mark, and Kara. She was a cherished granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She was held precious in the heart of everyone she touched. She started her early childhood program at Good Shepherd Center in Flossmoor, followed by education at Park School and High Point School in Orland Park. She then attended Elim Christian in Palos Heights and after graduation became a proud participant of Park Lawn Services. She competed in Special Olympics and was an avid athlete, competing in Tomahawk hockey, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, and swimming. She participated in bowling, hip-hop dance, and musicals through Orland Park Special Recreation. She was a member of Angels Among Us, a religious organization embracing people with disabilities. Dana loved life and enjoyed many things including movies, music, playing cards, singing, and especially dancing. Visitation Tuesday from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral prayers 10:00 a.m. Wednesday from the Zimmerman & Sandeman Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd Street, Orland Park, IL. Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Interment will be a private burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Park Lawn Services.
