

Our loving Mother, Eleni Kohylas Patsakas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23rd in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was an incredibly devoted mother to her four daughters, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the pillar of her family who lived a full life marked by her unmatched grace, resilience and boundless love. Born on May 22, 1930 in Magganiti-Ikarias, Greece, she migrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1969 with her beloved husband Lazaros dedicating her life to her then young family, always filling her home with warmth, kindness and hospitality and the comforting aroma of her famous meals of home-baked bread and 'spanakopita'. She welcomed everyone, sharing a deep tenderness for her husband and children and a special affection for her own brothers, sisters and extended family who were always made to feel a deep sense of her love and belonging.
Our Mother was the heart and soul of our family. She was our strength. She was the wisdom, who patiently championed us with a spirit of unwavering support through it all, leaving behind an indelible path for us to follow guided by a lifelong of safety and prayers. Her legacy lives in our hearts and those she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Eleni is survived by her daughters, Vasso (Vicky) Zervas, Lemonia (Leni) Letsou, Antonia (Toni) Di Meola, Constantina (Tina) Pissios. Grandchildren Francesca Stirrat, Oriana Di Meola, Eleni and Elisavette Letsou, Lazaros, Panteli and Alexios Pishos. Great grandchildren Paris, Christina, Arhon, Paulie, Sophia and Anastasia and her sister Marika Manolis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Lazaros Patsakas, and parents Lemonia and Andonios Kohylas, her daughter Antonitsa, siblings Mersina Rousos, Elias Kohylas, Thodoris Kohylas, Avgeris Kohylas, and Mihalis Kohylas

A visitation will be held for Eleni on Monday April 28th, 2025 at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 12307 Ridgeland Ave, Palos Heights, IL 60463 from 9:30am until 10:00am with a funeral service to immediately Follow. Interment at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11333 S Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
