Jim lived life on his terms. With his son, daughter, and grandson by his side, Jim ended his fight with colon cancer in the comfort of his home.
James Edward Zuidema was born in Chicago on December 15th 1954 to the late Herman Cornelius Zuidema and the late Beverly Jane Zuidema. He was the middle of five children- the late Judy Brown, Sandra, the late William Plikuhn, Janice, the late Thomas Witt, and Kimberly Zuidema.
Jim's fighting spirit will be carried on by his children Michael and Jamie and he will forever be missed by his five grandchildren Dom Annie Joseph TJ and Ben.
Like his father, Jim drove a tanker truck for over 30 years. He always loved a good car show and had a passion for riding his motorcycle. He was also a reformed alcoholic and smoker who then enjoyed riding his bicycle every couple days for 8 miles at a time. Jim loved eating broccoli but couldn't say no to a popsicle. Having barbecues with his son made him happy and he loved hearing about the crazy things his grandkids were doing.
Since Jim never liked being the center of attention, to honor his wishes, there will not be memorial services.
Goodbyes are not forever, not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you, until we meet again.
