Jeffrey Allen Parnell, age 69, of Addison, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.Jeff was the devoted husband of Roni Marie Parnell (née Derengowski), with whom he shared a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was the proud and loving father of Jeffrey Parnell Jr. and Jennifer (Sergio) Maldonado, and the cherished grandfather of Andrew Parnell, Nathan Parnell, Chase Maldonado, Jayden Maldonado, and Ava Maldonado. His family was his world—and he was theirs—always showing up with unwavering love, wisdom, and a great sense of humor. Jeff gave every ounce of his entire heart to his family. His love was deep, steady, and fierce, and it will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren, who carry his spirit, his strength, and his legacy forward.
Jeff would be there for anyone in need—no questions asked. If something was broken, he’d fix it. If someone was hurting, he’d show up. That was just who he was: dependable, generous, and always willing to lend a hand. To know Jeff was to know the ultimate dad and grandpa. He was the kind of grandfather who showed up to every game, recital, and school event with a camera in hand and pride in his eyes. He gave the warmest hugs and always had a joke or a bit of advice ready. As a father, he led with strength and gentleness, offering a steady hand and open heart through every chapter of his children’s lives.
Jeff lived life his way—honest, unapologetic, and true to himself. You never had to wonder where he stood, because he always told you exactly what he thought. That honesty, along with his wit and loyal heart, made him unforgettable.
He found deep joy in the simple pleasures of life. Jeff loved taking rides in his classic Mustang, the windows down, music up, and a grin on his face. He cherished every moment spent at his lake house—being on the boat or simply near the water brought him peace and happiness. It was his favorite kind of escape. But perhaps nothing compared to the love he had for his dogs, Molly and Bella. Those two stood by his side and protected him like the precious gold he was. Wherever Jeff went, they went—inseparable companions who never let him out of their sight.
He was truly one of a kind. If you knew Jeff, you were lucky. He leaves behind a legacy built on love, loyalty, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services will be held at a later date.
