He was born on July 27, 1975 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Jose Andres Espinal & Leonidas Espinal Vargas.
Albin had a way of lighting up the room when he entered. He was an amazing source of joy, and light for all who were fortunate enough to have met him. This served him and others well in both his personal and professional life, which often overlapped. While Albin spent most of his professional life in the beverage industry, his gift was in building relationships. As professional situations changed; people who dealt with Albin wanted to keep him in their lives, whether it was as a business colleague or simply as a friend. His customers, co-workers, and employers all considered themselves friends of Albin – they even considered themselves family.
Albin certainly knew his wine. At a party with 20 or so open bottles of wine, and a house full of people, Albin greeted all guests, sniffed their glass, and told them what they were drinking and the qualities he enjoyed about that wine – truly impressive. While his friends probably wouldn’t call Albin a comedian when it came to delivering jokes, you were guaranteed to find yourself laughing, if not at the joke, at his unique delivery and laughter. Pure joy.
Albin enjoyed music and sports, especially baseball. He loved sharing updates of his favorite teams, both in the U.S. and in the Dominican Republic. Albin loved life and most of all his wife, Judith. Albin and Judith were life partners for a total of 14 years. They got married on December 25, 2010 and continued to love and care for each other with all their hearts. They made a wonderful team.
Albin often spoke of his daughter, Araly, and his love for her. While struggling with the physical distance between them, he would continuously strive to be the best father he could be, and would tell friends how much he missed her and wished he could see her more often.
He gave us joy, made us smile, lifted our spirits, and helped us with our struggles. He was everything a friend could be, with relentless energy. He is now, and always will be missed tremendously. That said, the lives of those who knew him are forever enriched.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Jose Alejandro “Eddie” Espinal.
Albin is survived by his wife Judith Hamilton, his daughter Araly Espinal, his parents Leonidas Espinal, Jose Andre Espinal, sister Marildania Espinal, his brother Jose I. Espinal and an extensive list of family and friends.
