An LeQuang was born on June 10, 1950 in South Vietnam. A former stroke survivor, An passed away on August 31, 2017 at the age of 67 due to complications resulting from a second stroke. He was peacefully surrounded by his wife and family during his last hours.
Raised in Vietnam, An joined the South Vietnam Air Force in 1970 and served for five years (Second Lieutenant, 540th Fighter Squadron, Bien Hoa Air Base) piloting the F-5E fighter jet. He trained at both Sheppard and Lackland Air Force Bases in Texas from 1971-1972 before immigrating to the United States in 1975 where he had a career in mechanical engineering and spent nearly 35 years working at ABB Asea Brown Boveri until his official retirement.
Those that knew him knew that An was a loud and stubborn, yet funny and generous man. He loved his family deeply and spent most of his life working hard to take care of those he loved. An was also a man that loved to gamble. Nothing brought a smile quicker to his face than a visit to the casino. He also loved watching sports, especially football, tennis and soccer.
An is preceded in death by his father, My Van Le; and his mother, Nam Thi Nguyen. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Phi LeQuang; his daughter, Gloria LeQuang; his son-in-law, Theodore Newman; his two sons, Robert LeQuang and James LeQuang; his two grandsons, Ryker Newman and Raiden Newman; and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed.
