

Anthony was born January 6, 1938, in Ozone Park, New York, to the late John and Rose Firriolo. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York where he attended PS 216 grade school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. Anthony attended New York Community College where he graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering.
On September 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Jean Tancredi in Brooklyn, New York. Tony, as he often times was affectionately called, and Jean started their family in Brooklyn and later moved to Douglaston, New York. It was here that they raised their children John, Rosanne, Anthony, and Andrea. The family often spent weekends and summers in the home that he built with his own love and sweat in Monticello, New York.
Anthony started his professional career in 1959 as an engineer for Anthony Muratore Construction who specialized in excavation and foundations for high rise buildings in the greater New York metropolitan area.
In 1976, Anthony and Jean moved to Melbourne, Florida where he began his second career as an entrepreneur. In 1981, they moved to Tortoise Island in yet another home that he built in Satellite Beach where he became very fond of fishing and boating.
Anthony retired at the age of 60 to Orlando, Florida, took up golf, and spent summers with wife Jean in Asheville, North Carolina. During retirement they often times enjoyed traveling and became avid cruisers. His hobbies throughout the years included photography, stamp collecting, boating, fishing, golf, and cooking.
Anthony is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jean; his son John and his wife and Karen; his daughter Rosanne Firriolo; his son Anthony and his wife and Lisa; his daughter Andrea and her husband and Dennis Donohue; five grandchildren, Christina Firriolo, Jennifer Firriolo, Alexandra Smith, Mackenzie Donohue; Matthew Donohue; sister Lucille and husband Frank Labbate, sister Rose Marie Paone; brother-in-law Anthony Bassile; sister-in-law Marianne Bassile; and brother-in-law John Tancredi. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and relatives. In addition, Anthony maintained many long time relationships from his childhood through the present years with those whom he loved very much.
Mass services for Anthony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 1501 North Alafaya Trail, Orlando followed by Funeral Services at the Greenwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Carey Hand Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and at the church and the cemetery on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
