Claude W. Gillespie

GILLESPIE, CLAUDE W. 66, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014, after a six-year battle with cancer due to Agent Orange exposure during two tours of duty in Vietnam while in the service of his country. He was born February 28, 1947 in Raven, Virginia, son of the late Curtis and Kate Gillespie. Preceded in death by his brother Charlie, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cheryl; daughters, Traci Gillespie-Brown and Judi (Jeff) Ruhl; sons, Errick Gillespie, Claude Gillespie Jr., and Adam Gillespie; sister Laura Tiller (Arnvil); brother Randall Gillespie (Arleen); nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the UF Health Cancer Center at Orlando Health.
