Colleen Slifker, born July 28, 1940, in DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. She lived a life defined by love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to family. Her steady presence brought comfort, calm, and warmth to all who knew her.
Nurturing by nature, Colleen expressed her love through togetherness. Whether spending time side by side with her beloved husband, Pete, or intentionally creating moments with her children and grandchildren, family was always her highest priority. She found joy in life’s simplest pleasures - watching classic cowboy movies, enjoying donuts, and sitting down to talk, reminisce, and listen.
She will be fondly remembered for the small habits that revealed her gentle spirit: her familiar “yes, dear,” her affectionate “Peteee, can you get me this?” and her cheerful morning call of “coffee, coffee!” These everyday moments now live on as treasured memories that reflect her warmth and tenderness.
Colleen especially cherished returning to DeLand to visit family, where she delighted in sharing stories and memories from her past, keeping family history alive through conversation and connection. Her Catholic faith guided her life and grounded her with quiet strength and grace.
She is survived by her loving husband, Pete Slifker; her five children, Paul Slifker, Glenn Slifker, Pamela Schulz, Michael Slifker, and John Slifker; and her four grandchildren, Bobby Slifker, Laci Alvarez, David Slifker, and Brandon Slifker.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Conway Funeral Home. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Orlando, followed by Rite of Committal at 1:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
Colleen will be deeply missed during holidays, family gatherings, phone calls, and the everyday routines once shaped by her gentle presence. Though she is no longer with us physically, her love, her voice, and her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of her family.
