

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we honor the life of Darryl B. Henderson Sr., a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, who departed this earth on Monday, February 10, 2025. Though he has left our sight, his love, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will forever live on in those he touched.
Born on August 9, 1955, Darryl lived a life defined by service, adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He proudly served his country for over 7 years as a United States Army Ranger, embodying the courage, discipline, and resilience of an elite soldier. His time in the military shaped his character and instilled in him the values of leadership and honor, which he carried into every chapter of his life.
Darryl’s ambition and leadership extended far beyond the battlefield. He pursued a thriving career in business and real estate, working with Global Enterprise Realty Group, LLC and Global Enterprise Acquisition Group. He was also a passionate executive chef and founder of DBernard Foods, LLC, where his gift for creating unforgettable dishes brought joy to countless people. He loved crafting new recipes, exploring bold flavors, and sharing his culinary expertise with others—because for Darryl, food was a way of bringing people together.
His love for adventure and exploration knew no bounds. Darryl had a deep passion for traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, and embracing life’s many wonders. A true outdoorsman, he found peace and joy in hunting, fishing, archery, and nature, always appreciating the beauty of the world around him.
Beyond his personal and professional accomplishments, Darryl was a mentor and guide to many young people, leading with wisdom and compassion. He believed in lifting others up, helping them find their path, and instilling in them the values of perseverance and integrity. He was a proud member of Mega Psi Phi and an esteemed Masonic brother, upholding the principles of brotherhood, service, and excellence.
Above all, Darryl’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was married to Virginia White and leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished children, Darryl B. Henderson II, Kimo
K. Sylva, Nathaniel R. Colwell, Cheyenne A. Henderson, and his beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel R. Colwell Jr., Camden C. Colwell, and Savannah Colwell. He will also be deeply missed by his loving sisters, Carolyn Jones and Joyce Hatten, along with a host of family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
A visitation for Darryl will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Alternatives at All Faiths, 4901 S ORANGE AVE, ORLANDO, FL 32806. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 4901 S ORANGE AVE, ORLANDO, FL 32806. A reception will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Cafe-Boutique PIANO, 558 W New England Ave #135, 135, Winter Park, FL 32789. A committal service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Q44J+Q9, Mims, FL 32754.
Darryl will be laid to rest in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
