I will always remember the laughter in our family. Your mom and my dad were always pulling jokes on each other...that must have been how their childhood was...love fun and laughter. Lisa, my heart goes out to you and your family.  I was so fortunate to be introduced to Edna by the Maddrons when my mother moved to The Bridge several years ago.  Edna took her under her wing and helped make her time there more enjoyable.  I was frequently told that she would check in on my mother regularly and would invite her to tea in her lovely apartment.  Edna was a kind, thoughtful person who brought smiles to everyone around her.  I feel blessed to have seen her one last time when I was at Dallas's funeral and also to have been able to meet you.  Every time I saw her at The Bridge she would talk about you and how proud she was of you.  You will be in my prayers.

Lisa- I wish I could be there with you.  Edna has always been and always will be such a very special person to me, I love her so much. She was truly an amazing woman.  My heart and thoughts are with you, I miss you and love you!  Lisa

I was blessed to have Edna in our Listen In His Name Telephone Class each Sunday. She was always concerned and caring about each of her classmates. In the fall, I so enjoyed talking football with her. She will be missed, and we were all blessed to have known her.

You mom and mine, Catherine H. Crews, were friends longtime friends and teaching buddies at ORHS.  She was also my American History teacher at ORHS and one of my favorite but toughest teachers. A great lady and awesome teacher--I loved the stories she would tell about her days in the FBI.

Your mother was my mentor as I began teaching in 1966.  She was my supervising teacher at Oak Ridge High School and helped me join the Social Studies department in January after I graduated from FSU. She remained my guide and mentor first as my department chair and then as the Social Studies Supervisor for OCPS. 

Because of her, I returned to teaching and Florida after the disaster of the statewide teacher strike in 1968.  I enjoyed a long professional friendship with her after I returned to Florida in 1971 and, with her help, was hired at Westridge Junior High School.  Mrs. Stanford showed me how powerful a teacher could be in the lives of students.  I am still teaching today in Orange County at Cypress Creek High School.

I have never forgotten her guidance or help but after her retirement I let time pass without reconnecting with her.  I feel a great deal of sadness for I never told her how important she had been through the years as a role model for me.

I am saddened today for your loss as well as for what Orange County Public Schools lost Friday.  She was a rare and wonderful person and left an indelible mark on all the students and teachers that passed through her presence.
