Fabrizio Vasani, known as Mark to friends and coworkers, was born on June 1,1956 in Milan, Italy to Sergio and Mirella Vasani. In his youth, he moved with his family to South America, spending some of his teenage years in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At 18, he immigrated to the United States, settling in Miami, Florida. From there, he attended the University of Florida, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Finance. Mark also met his future wife, Robin, when he was 19. He knew instantly that she was the one for him, and after much pursuit, she finally agreed. They married in 1980 and spent the next 45 years building a life together– first in New Jersey, then Miami, Virginia, and finally coming to Orlando, Florida in 2011.
Throughout the years, Mark worked hard on a successful four decade long career in banking. He began in international banking, then moved into specializing in business loans and asset recovery. He ultimately retired in 2013 as a Senior Vice President of SunTrust Bank. He was highly respected for his professionalism and work ethic, as well as his loyalty and dedication to his career.
Mark had an array of interests outside of work and family including a fascination with military history around the world. Having lived through the political coup in Argentina, Mark sought to understand the intricacies of government and conflict, and was extensively well read about European, North American, and South American wars. Mark also had a deep and abiding appreciation for opera and classical music. As a polyglot, Mark would often translate lyrics and texts from one language to another, and even taught himself to speak German. Mark was an intense fan of soccer, rooting of course for Italian and Argentine teams above all else. He could often be found in his “man cave” watching club and national soccer games on television.
In 1985, Robin and Mark welcomed their only child, Jennifer, into the world. From the moment of her birth, Jennifer was a daddy’s girl and they loved each other immensely– a strong bond that continued throughout Jennifer’s life. More joy followed with the birth of Mark’s first grandson, Liam, in 2012 and his second grandson, Declan, in 2024. Spending time with his grandsons was always a great happiness to Pop Pop, as he was affectionately called.
Mark is preceded in death by his father Sergio and mother Mirella. He is survived by his wife Robin; daughter Jennifer & son-in-law Trip; grandsons Liam & Declan; brother Roberto & sister-in-law Adriana; niece Lucia; and nephew Federico.
We are heartbroken at Mark’s passing on December 27, 2025. He was the pillar of calm in our lives and the person we all depended on to know what to do when the path forward was unclear. We will miss his unwavering presence, guidance, advice, and love. We hold his memory in every day that we live the lives that he worked so hard to provide for us. We take up the mantle to make him proud.
A chapel service will be scheduled soon. Please contact Jennifer for more information in the coming days.
