Francis Eugene Riley

Rex was the son of the late Bernard J. Riley and Lucile R. Riley of Sarasota, FL.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret Bates Riley, his son Kevin G. Riley, his daughter Colleen R. Smith, his brother Bernard J. Riley and sister Mary Ellen Korte.

Rex was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on October 22, 1930. He graduated from St. John’s

Prep School on May 30, 1948, earned a degree from St John’s University on June 30, 1952 and was inducted into the military in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. During his military career he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for actions in combat in Southeast Asia and accumulated more than 13,000 Flying hours. Rex retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force on August 1, 1974. He was a resident of Orlando for 39 years and an active member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
