Horace James “Jim” Evans, passed away on January 2, 2016. Born on June 14, 1929 in Valley, PA, he was a veteran of both the Army and Navy, and served during WWII and the Korean War. Jim moved to central Florida in 1978, and was the owner/operator of Evans Cablevision, which was the first to offer The Disney Channel in the area. He loved the sea, and was a boat captain, fisherman, and real life treasure hunter. Jim is survived by wife Susan Evans, daughters Valorie Evans Ebersole, Faith (Bob) Achtermann, and Sandy (Pat) Porter, step-son Scott Surchik, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. A visitation and memorial service will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Conway chapel, 1413 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando FL on Wednesday evening, January 6 from 5:30 to 8:00.
