Born to parents Jose Soler and Eulalia Rodriguez on August 7, 1954 in Havana, Cuba, he was their third child and first son. As a young boy he immigrated to the United States with his two older sisters, “Mirta” and “Dania".
At an early age he began guitar lessons at ASM studios where he later met his beloved wife Thais. They went on to marry on December 8, 1975 in Miami, Florida.
Jose continued his musical studies at Florida International University. While balancing work, classes, practice and a growing family, he managed to graduate at the top of his class in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Music.
After moving to Orlando in 1980 he began working in sales, specifically in the door and hardware industry, and thrived in that field for years while making many life-long friends.
Playing the guitar with friends and family was always a favorite pastime but his passion was really teaching music. He had countless students over the years who will miss him dearly.
Jose is survived by his two daughters, Tai Soler and Jennifer James and devoted son-in-law Ronald James; three grandsons, Jelani, Cheo and Jaylon James; one brother, Antonio Rodriguez; and a large family of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thais Soler; his parents Jose and Eulalia Soler; and his two sisters who adored him, Hilda “Mirta” Rodriguez and Maria “Dania” Torrado.
The family has entrusted Baldwin Fairchild with the arrangements. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 11th from 5PM to 10PM. The funeral will be on Saturday, February 12th at 10AM and will be officiated by Ronald James. Both services will be held at Baldwin Fairchild on 1413 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32807.
