Bette loved speaking and spending time with her friends and family. She talked on the phone for hours with them, and called her sister, Joan, every day to let her know she loved her and to offer support and guidance. Bette also demonstrated this love and affection to other members of her family and the many dear friends she acquired over the years.
Her friends and family visited with her frequently and reached out to her often, while she was sick, and we’d like to thank all of them for being so supportive and helpful during this difficult time.
Bette loved animals very deeply, and she took great care of a number of dogs and other animals over the years. She once rescued a dog, Molly, and saved her from certain death by lovingly nursing her back to health and caring for her until Molly finally passed away several years later. Bette rescued another dog, Brodie, who would have been returned to a shelter had she not taken him into her home. She loved and cared for him also until he passed away in November 2014, and she frequently donated money to the numerous charities created to rescue and care for animals.
Bette was a sweet, loving, caring, and inspirational woman. But don’t let that fool you. She was very tough and strong for a 4’ 11”, 84 pound woman. She was smart, mentally tough and had a quick wit. Bette was a wonderful Mother, not only to me and my sister, Kimberley, but to many of our friends while we were growing up. Many of them thought of her as a second Mother. She drove us and our friends all over the place when we were younger and never complained about it. She cared for them and nurtured them as if they were her own children. She was often described as having a “heart of gold.” One of my best friends when I was growing up, summed it up perfectly when he said, “Somehow, the good Lord shoved a 300 pound person’s heart into a 100 pound woman.”
She was an amazing woman and Mother, who had a sweet and gentle soul. She was always very generous, thoughtful, and giving. These are not just my words, but also the words of her extended family and friends. She will be missed dearly!
She will be reunited in heaven with her deceased daughter, Kimberley Davis, Kimberley’s dogs, Samson and Riley, her nephew Jeff Hamilton, the Amicucci family, the Capparelle family, the Youmans family, the Dillon family and all of the many dogs she took great care of over the years, especially her loving and very special dog, Brodie, who was her buddy and loyal companion for the past 10 years, who passed away recently
Bette is survived by her son, Louis Amicucci II, her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Carl Wiebe, her nieces Leslie Hamilton and Jennifer Schamberg, her nephew Clayton Hamilton, and her extended family.
