Lawrence Marion Jenkins Jr.

LAWRENCE MARION JENKINS JR. was born July 11, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents Lawrence M. Jenkins and Jeannette L. Jenkins of Gastonia, North Carolina passed away on March 9, 2024. He was a graduate of Gastonia High School in Gastonia, NC. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years where he rose to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force he served in various locations in the United States, Korea, Japan and Thailand. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Orange County Government for 20 years as the Computer Operations Manager. He was a member of Brevard Masonic Lodge 113 and Scottish Rite Order for 68 years; he was also involved with the Rainbow Girls for many years with his daughters. He was active in various recreational vehicle camping clubs and served as President of the Florida State Coachmen Club and was also the Treasurer of District 4 Coachmen.

He enjoyed camping with his wife throughout the United States. His other hobbies included painting and various other crafts as well as reading. His favorite tradition was making candy every year for his family during the holidays including his famous peanut brittle and buck eyes.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 71 years, Bettie Jenkins; his four children Patti Shankland, her husband Frank; Troy M. Jenkins; Dianna Williamson, her husband Larry and Lawrence E. Jenkins and his wife Marilynn.

His seven grandchildren; Fallon Mead, her husband Art; Kevin Jenkins, his wife Brittany, Kendra Bibb; Julianne Foyil, her husband Zachary; Clayton Sandley; Jessica Jenkins and Matthew Jenkins.

His five great granddaughters; Cheyenne and Maren Mead, Amzie Jones, Charlotte and Savannah Jenkins

A celebration of life service for Lawrence will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 1413 S SEMORAN BLVD, ORLANDO, FL 32807. Following the celebration of life service will be an interment from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 TEMPLE DR, WINTER PARK, FL 32789.
