Paul was born in Paducka, KY. Until he retired, his professional career was in the Mortgage Brokeage Business. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served our country during the Korean Conflict. He was avid member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His first marriage was to Charlotte Womble Saunders, after his divorce he married his lifelong partner, Sylvia Catron Womble, whom preceded him in death on September 2008.

Survivors include his sister Virginia Lewis of Lubbock, TX, also his niece Cheryl Widen of Galveston, TX, Son of first marriage, Paul Keith Womble of San Antonio, TX and his Daughter Sonia Womble Arroyo of Orlando, FL. Paul was very fond of the Lakota (Sioux) Children, he always referred them as his Papoose's. Paul was always bothered by the fact that in this age and time someone always went to bed hungry. He also said if he could solve anything it would be world hunger.
