

Richard C. Brasefield, 81, of Windermere, FL (formerly of Elkton, MD and Newark, DE) went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1943 in Easton, PA. Mr. Brasefield retired in 1992 as a financial manager for the DuPont Company, where he worked for 23 years. Following his retirement, he was an Adjunct Professor of Management at Goldey-Beacom College for 20 years. He received the “Excellence in Teaching” award twice while he taught there. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North East, MD, where he served on the Deacon Board and the Usher and Finance Committees. He was a former member of Faith Baptist Church, Wilmington, DE. He was an avid boater and he loved family activities. He was a beloved husband, father, uncle and Papa. His family treasures all the wonderful memories they had with him.
Richard loved Jesus with all of his heart and shared the good news of the gospel with family, friends and students. He also loved leaving gospel tracts wherever he could.
He was predeceased by his parents, James S. and Helen Josephine (Kent) Brasefield.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Brasefield, daughter, Wendy Wargo (Kevin) of Windermere, FL, and grandchildren, Matthew Wargo and Jonathan Wargo. Also survived by his brother, Ed Brasefield (Jennie) of Concord, NC, and sister, Mary Rudy (Randy) of North Port, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life is planned for August 2 in Orlando, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of North East, 206 Mechanics Valley Road, North East, MD 21901.
