Unfortunately, I had just learned of the passing of Dr. Wissner, this past Thursday., Nov. 14, 2019.

I had been a patient of his both at the V/A’s Out-patient Facility, near Lk. Baldwin. And at the VAMC, near Lk. Nona. Dr. Wissner had treated me at both Pain Clinics for my Service-Connected injuries, I had sustained going back to the early ‘70’s.

I use to refer to him as my “Guardian Angel”! He was an expert when it came to relieving my pain that no other physician has been capable of doing. He had treated me for more than the past 20 years!
He will be extremely & sadly missed!

May his departed Soul Rest in the Palms of God’s Hands, Eternally!

Peace Be With You, Dr. Wissner~

I have had the privilege of working with Dr Wissner for 13 years at the Orlando Va medical center in the pain clinic and surgery Department. Best years for me Working for such a wonderful smart Doctor like him. Many memories were made and I will never forget him. I'm in shock hearing this news. Prayers to his family and I will never forget him. This makes me so sad. Gone too soon. Will miss you Dr.Wissner.

Richard, affectionately known as Junior, was a dear friend of mine since the first day we met at Skidmore College on freshmen "meet and greet" night. We spent many memorable times together laughing, joking and of course studying. We both went on to become physicians and remained friends. We would see each other at least annually in our beloved Saratoga Springs at the racetrack. I'm sure i'll shed many tears every time I go back. He will remain in my memory forever. I would not have become a doctor without him keeping me on the right road. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him

Always available, Dr. Wissner was the epitome of a caring person. Not only was he my doctor, he was also a colleague. I witnessed him giving his rare free time happily to Veterans and other staff on countless occasions.

I will always remember how gregarious and large his personality was, especially with his friends. I’ll always smile thinking about the time he stopped me in the hallway to play the “Tom Terrific” song for... and he sang along with the lyrics (it was clear he had practiced). I always enjoyed getting to chat with him every morning (and when we crossed paths during the day), even if it meant I had to rush to get things going, and will miss him immensely.
