

In 1945 when World War II ended Bob was discharged from the U.S. Navy and became a teller at the Greenpoint Savings Bank. After eight years he left banking, where he had risen to head teller. Bob then went to work in the timekeeping department for Crowe, Steer, Shepherd, an International Construction Company which was building an airport in Tripoli, Libya. Within 6 months he was promoted to manager of the timekeeping department. He bought a sailboat to explore the Mediterranean coastline and spent 18 months using his vacation time and long weekends to visit Italy, Spain and North Africa.
After 2 years he returned to Brooklyn to wait for another overseas assignment, but in 1956 he went to work at Arthur Murray Dance Studio teaching ballroom dancing, where he met his wife, Irma, whom he married on September 29, 1957.
Three days after the wedding he started his job as a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines. The year their daughter, Claudia was born, Bob was promoted to Supervisor of International In Flight Services at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan. From there he became Manager of In Flight Supervision at La Guardia then moved to JFK Airport.
In 1987 after 30 years with Eastern Airlines, Bob and Irma retired and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Finally they were able to explore the Southwest. The Caiazzos became avid tennis players and started competing in USTA leagues. Bob started hiking and biking, but his curiosity took him to Indian Reservations, National Parks and historic battlegrounds. Bob became interested in Gunfighters of the Wild West, whose graves he visited in the adjoining states.
Finally in 1998 Bob and Irma joined their daughter, Claudia and her daughters, Nita and Bianca Negri and the family moved to Orlando, FL. They continued their roaming throughout the East, West, North, and South United States. They often visited family in Puerto Rico and have enjoyed their airline benefits by spending time in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Bob joined the Emeritus at Ocoee residence on August 26, 2011.
A funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 4pm on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Family Funeral Care, 13001 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32837. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2pm to service time.
