He was preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his brother, Bill Owen, and his sisters, Becky Schadow and Bitsy Dupree, along with many nieces and nephews who brought great joy to his life.
Born with a brain injury that limited his formal education, Bobby nonetheless possessed remarkable intelligence and determination. He lived with his mother until 1990, when both he and his mother moved in with his sister Becky. After his mother’s passing in 2015, Bobby continued to make his home with Becky, where he was loved and cared for.
Bobby had an extraordinary love for puzzles and built an impressive collection over the years. There was never a puzzle he could not solve, and he mastered the Rubik’s Cube with little effort. His nieces and nephews introduced him to video games, and Final Fantasy was his favorite.
After attending watchmaking school in Daytona Beach in his 20s, Bobby became a skilled watchmaker, repairing clocks and watches at several jewelry stores for nearly 30 years. His patience, focus, and attention to detail were evident in everything he did.
A man of strong faith, Bobby attended church regularly and found comfort in his relationship with God. He was also a lifetime member of the Central Florida Astronomy Club. With six telescopes of his own, he delighted in studying the night sky and spending time among the stars he so deeply loved.
Bobby was a sweet and gentle soul whose quiet presence touched everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he enriched.
