A child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and dear friend, Vilma Prado-Flores’ love of life didn’t come to an end on August 14, 2021, but instead continues to live through the lives of those that were touched by her beautiful heart and smile.
Vilma was born to the late Ruperto Prado Rodriguez (Biological father) and Carmen Luisa Maysonet on February 19, 1958, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. She was raised by her loving mother Carmen Maysonet Soler and father Agapito Soler, since the tender age of 1 years old. At an early age, she moved to Newark, NJ where destiny awaited. She met the love of her life, best friend, and husband, Armando Flores, at the age of 16. This sort of love struck like a lightning bolt the moment he looked into her eyes (as Armando always described it to others). In their union, they found each other’s love and together with God, they built a family and raised 3 daughters, Jessica, Mireya, and Yolanda.
Vilma’s life was devoted to God and her family. She sacrificed personal dreams and goals to care for her family and she did it without begrudging or regret. She made a house a home with the word of God, love, peace, and unity. She was a great judge of character and welcomed those who joined the family with opened arms. She was selfless, catered to her family regardless of her present state, treated everyone fairly and shared her love equally.
She was a creative and artistic woman with an imagination that made every special event/occasion a memorable one. The beauty of her heart shined through her work. Her smile brought sunshine to the lives of others and her actions spoke for themselves. She exemplified strength, courage, unity, and love…characteristics her husband adored.
She now lives in the spiritual realm where her comfort and love can be easily felt when you most need her. Vilma is predeceased by her brother Adrian and sister Silma. She is survived by her husband, Armando Flores, their daughters Jessica, Mireya, and Yolanda, son-in law Anthony Guillaume, and seven grandchildren: Ahmanie, Thomas Jr., Anthony Gestin, Jaden, Jordan, Serena and Bella. Her father Agapito Soler Sr., her siblings; Agapito Jr., Gabriel, Sandra, Janet, Gabriella, and Luz. She will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
