

Alice L Guarino ,96, of Orleans and Ayer, Ma. passed away peacefully on March 2nd, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Alice was born in Dorset, Vermont to Fred and Erma Streeter. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Streeter and her husband of 60 years, Armand A Guarino. She is survived by her three daughters, Diana Guarino of Groveland , Fla., Erica Peno of Orleans, Ma., and Shelley Migrants and husband Kurt Migrants of Shirley, Ma. She leaves behind four grandsons, Jesse Peno and wife Megan, Benjamin Peno and wife Brianna, Silas Peno and wife Katherine and Tony Derenthal. In addition, she also leaves behind 11 great grandsons and one great granddaughter along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Alice attended Burr and Burton High School in Manchester, Vermont and went on to earn a teaching degree from the University of Vermont, in Burlington, Vt.
She was an avid reader, a talented knitter, and a fanatical lover of football, especially the Patriots. She enjoyed working outside on her flowers, and loved to travel, with Hawaii being her favorite destination.
Alice was an excellent cook and loved entertaining her friends and family. Her home was decorated for every season and her holiday meals were her glory.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10th at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, Calling hours begin at 10am with a service following at 11am.
The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care she received. Special thanks to Asanya Phillips (of Bayada Home Care) who was her beloved care giver. Also, special thanks to Regalcare Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice. They eased her, and us, through this difficult time.
