Alison Grace McCutchen (Gardiner), 51, of Orleans, Mass, formerly of Baltimore, MD, died Sunday, January 10th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late J. Martin and Mary Gardiner (Cronin) on June 1, 1969. She grew up in the neighborhood of Bolton Hill and attended the Institute of Notre Dame High School. She graduated from Frostburg State University and completed her Nursing degree at Cape Cod Community College. Alison spent time exploring the country as a traveling RN before settling in Cape Cod. She was a dedicated and well-respected nurse at Cape Cod Hospital for twenty years. She will be remembered as loving caregiver to all of the lives she touched at the hospital and in the community. Alison was a lover of life and of people. She brightened any room with her positive attitude and infectious laugh. Her significant long-lasting friendships are a testament to the loyal and caring friend she was to so many. But being a mother to one, was the great joy of her life. Alison is survived by her son, Sawyer Cliff and her husband, Stephen H. McCutchen Jr. of Orleans, Mass. She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Beth Anne and James Gardiner, and Kathryn MacDonald (Gardiner), along with their families that meant so much to her.
