

Born and raised in Girard, Ohio, Barbara earned her undergraduate degree from Kent State University and her master’s degree from Manhattanville College. She had a rewarding career as a special education teacher. She touched the lives of many children and made a difference in their world with her patience and kindness.
In years past, she was an avid sports enthusiast. In particular, she loved playing tennis with friends, skiing with her family, and playing golf with her husband Richard. Barbara first arrived in Chatham as a young mother, and cherished nearly forty summers on the Cape. Watching her kids grow up at the waters edge, enjoying carefree cookouts with friends, and taking in the sunset over Hardings Beach – she loved it all.
Barbara treasured her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She is the beloved wife of the late Richard H. Rein. Devoted mother of Cheryl Kodzis and her husband Edward of Canton, David and his wife Julie of Stow, Bradley and his wife Chris of Natick. Loving nana of eight grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Brian, Kyle, Gretchen, Eliza, Lucy, Quinn and Camryn. Caring sister of Wayne Evans and his wife Doreen of McDonald, Ohio. Dear aunt of Wayne Jr. Evans and Tracy Carkido also of McDonald, Ohio.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Monday, July 19, at the First United Methodist Church, Chatham.
