Carol P. Drake

Carol Prange Drake passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on March 15, 2015 at her Heatherwood home in Yarmouth Port, MA. She was born June 11, 1923, in Schenectady, NY to Constance Erdle Prange and Charles Henry Prange. Carol was educated at the Holmquist School, New Hope, PA and attended Colorado College and Bennington College. She and her former husband, Philip Wade Drake had three children – David Prange Drake, Nathaniel Arthur Drake and Marcia Drake Livada. A wonderfully warm and caring mother, grandmother and friend, Carol is survived by her children, and her five grandchildren. Carol was a fifty-year resident of Short Hills, NJ, where she was a member of the Congregational Church, Junior League, served on the First Aid squad and volunteered at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. After more than 60 years as a summer resident, Carol moved full-time to Cape Cod in 1992 where she enjoyed golf at Eastward Ho!, tennis at the Dennis Yacht Club and hosting family and friends at her beach cottage in East Dennis. Carol joined the Dennis Union Church, shortly after moving to Heatherwood in 2007. A memorial service for Carol, in accord with her wishes, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Dennis Union Church, 713 Main Street, Dennis, MA.
