She was born in her grandmother’s house in Belpre, Ohio, on June 9, 1924. The daughter of Virginia Cooper of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and William Perl Clark of Belpre, she lived in the Belpre area until 1930, when her family moved to Trumbull, Connecticut. She attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs, where she sang in the Carollers and enjoyed horseback riding. She was also an accomplished pianist.
She married Francis A. (Frank) Kosewski of Shelton, Connecticut, in 1951, and the couple had two children, Andrea and Peter. The family lived in Connecticut until 1974, when Frank, then an executive of the B. F. Goodrich in Shelton, was transferred to Marietta, Ohio—within a few miles of Belpre. The couple moved to Cape Cod, where they had vacationed since 1961, following Frank’s retirement in 1984.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 59 years; by her daughter, Andrea Dunn of Eastham and her two children, Evan, of Pomfret, Connecticut, and Rosamond, of Los Angeles; by her son Peter Kosewski and her son-in-law John Anderson of Boston; and by her nephews Mark and Jeffrey Crofutt, respectively of Milford and Monroe, Connecticut.
Friends are welcome to visit with Carolyn’s family from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, March 5, at their home in Eastham. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of your choice would be welcome.
