Claire Frances Mastro

Claire Frances (Tinsley) Mastro, 84, of Eastham, MA, passed away peacefully, August 28, 2024 joining in heaven her father William, mother Louise (Bellieu) Tinsley, sisters Barbara (Tinsley) Errara, Louise (Tinsley) Francke, husband Banio “Benny” Mastro and partner William Hardy. Claire was born October 18, 1940 in Worcester, MA.

Claire leaves behind her nieces and nephew Eric and wife Sulli, Lisa, Andrea, Barbara Francke, Claire (Francke) Radke and husband Peter along with many other family members and friends. Not forgotten her constant companion, her dog “Buddy”.

She was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, MA and also attended schools in Worcester, having earned a degree in education. For many years she taught elementary school in the West Boylston school district. Claire loved to share her wonderful and funny memories about the many students she had taught over those years.

Once retired from teaching, Claire and Benny decided to follow their hearts and dreams and made Eastham their permanent residence where they had summered for years. Together they embarked on a new adventure and opened a deli in North Eastham on Bracket Road known as “Uncle Ben’s Meat & Deli” which was infamous in its day. After Benny’s passing Claire became a snowbird and began wintering in Naples, FL and summering in Eastham which she loved to do and did for many years.

Claire loved to entertain and was always ready for a family gathering. She enjoyed going out to dinner, spending time with the ones she loved and having a few laughs together. Claire will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her quick wit, beautiful smile and sparkling blues eyes. A special thank you from the Francke family to the home health-aids that were devoted to Claire’s care.

Claire was a devoted Catholic and a funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 61 Canal Rd. Orleans, MA. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that she be remembered by offering good deeds to others.
