

ORLEANS - Donald F. Dolan, of Orleans, Massachusetts and formerly of Crestwood and Bronxville, New York, died peacefully in his home Thursday evening surrounded by his wife and children. He was 76 years old.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY, he was raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and graduated from St. Peter’s Prep in Staten Island. Don earned his degree in Business from Fordham University in the Bronx. After graduating and serving his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, he went on to a career as a bond trader on Wall Street that began at Singer Mackie and then Allen & Company later spending the majority of his career at Freeman Securities in Jersey City, NJ where he retired in 1989 as Vice Chairman.
He married Janie, his wife of 45 and a half years, and raised their five children in Crestwood, NY where he was an active member and trustee of Annunciation Parish. After retiring and moving to Cape Cod full time in 1995 he continued to enjoy his time with family and friends, family fishing and golf outings, golf with Janie and all of his chums and especially the competition and camaraderie that ensued. Don’s faith was a constant and ever-present part of his life, marriage and family. In his retirement, he found a love for his garden and his birds, but most important to him were his faith, his wife Janie and his family especially his 12 grand children.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Inglesby) of Orleans, MA, his daughter, M. Kathleen Dolan DiCenso of Brewster, MA and her children Kathryn, Matthew and John; his daughter Elizabeth Feeney and husband Scott of Scituate, MA and their children Jane, Anna, Thomas and Matthew; his son Patrick and wife Kathleen of South Setauket, NY and their children Jack and Kevin; his son Matthew and wife Emily of Hudson, MA and their sons Luke and Will; his son Michael and wife Marnie and their daughter Delaney and dear Uncle Jim Moore of Croton Falls, NY.
Visiting hours will be at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA on Monday, January 17th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans on Tuesday, January 18th at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Orleans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to VNA of Cape Cod - Hospice, 434 Route 134, Suite D3, South Dennis, MA 02660.
