Donna Mary Durkin

It is with heavy hearts that we accept the passing of Donna, our daughter, sister, aunt and friend. For those of us who knew her best, she was a fighter from the time of her premature birth until the day she died. Always a generous and loving spirit, Donna's happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family and her beloved dog Rosie and kitty Annabelle.

As a family, we are especially thankful for the amazing medical care and support that Donna received throughout her life, which allowed her to live her life on her own terms. Anyone who knew Donna, no matter the circumstances, could see the person beneath the disabilities, and if lucky enough would also be rewarded with her sense of humor if not a very long and detailed email.

Donna was predeceased by her devoted grandparents, John and Juliette Carruthers and her paternal grandfather Francis T. Durkin. She is survived by her parents Frederick and Judith Durkin of Eastham, MA formerly of Waltham, MA, siblings Marie (Denis) Lewis of Sudbury, MA, Leanne Wilcinski (Harry Feinberg) of Belmont, MA and Daniel (Wendy) Durkin of Sudbury, MA. Nephews and Nieces Amanda and Stephen Wilcinski, Jonathan, Catherine and Conor Lewis and Briana, Tyler and Ryan Durkin and her paternal grandmother Natalie (Creonte) Durkin.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 2 - 4 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA followed by a simple service celebrating Donna's life. Burial will be private at Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
