Dorothea E. Hemmings

After raising her family, “Dot” led an accomplished 24 year career in the insurance industry. She also worked for the Eastham Chamber visitor booth where she made some dear friends.

She enjoyed crosswords, Wheel of Fortune, card games, gardening, warm sun and Thumpertown Beach. “Grandma Dot” loved unconditionally; wishing nothing but the best for others, compliments came easy.

Her spirit is carried on by her daughter Susan Jones and her husband Ed of Liverpool, NY, Kathleen Brophy and her husband Tom of Eastham, Joseph Hemmings and his wife Chris of Hebron, ME, Michael Hemmings his wife Carla of Eastham, and son John Hemmings of Orleans. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, John DiDonato and his wife Cathleen, Cory Brophy, Kiana Brophy, Riley and Emily Hemmings, Sarah and Russell Hemmings, Jennifer and Michelle Jones, and her great-grandson John Thomas DiDonato.

Dot enjoyed her life most when she was with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Dot’s family wishes to express gratitude to those who shared in her life.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 24th at 11 am at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans. A private burial will follow.
