Edmund Byron Burke, Jr., 88, of Eastham, Massachusetts died on May 11, 2017 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1929, the son of the Dr. Edmund B. Burke and Harriet E. (Brydon) Burke, late of Orleans, Massachusetts, Byron attended high school and college at Valley Forge Military Academy and College, graduated from Boston University in 1952, served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force, worked for the Department of Defense, and had careers in real estate and landscaping. He loved gardening. He was the brother of Marion E. (Burke) Gallipeau of Middletown, Rhode Island. He leaves behind nephews Richard W. Gallipeau and Peter Gallipeau, and niece Jacquelyn (Gallipeau) Cousens, all of Middletown; nephew James Gallipeau of Newport, Rhode Island; and his longtime friend E. Weston (“Wes”) Wilbur of Eastham. Memorial donations may be made to the Eastham Council on Aging, PO Box North Eastham, MA 02651. Burial will be private.
