Eleanor C. Snow

ELEANOR C. SNOW, Eleanor C. Snow, 81, of Brewster died peacefully on February 2, 2016. Born on April 3, 1934 in Bronxville, NY, Ellie was a graduate of Darien High School, Central Connecticut State University and SUNY New Paltz where she received Bachelor and Masters degrees, respectively, in elementary education.

Ellie was a dedicated teacher for over 25 years at school systems in Greenwich, Stamford and Simsbury, CT and, most recently, the Stony Brook Elementary School and afterschool program in Brewster. Ellie also loved spending time gardening, with her book club, volunteering in the community and at the Orleans United Methodist Church, where she was an active member. Most of all, Ellie loved spending time with her family and many wonderful friends, who will always remember her for her energy, loving spirit and commitment to children.

Ellie was predeceased by Reverend M. Lawrence Snow, her beloved husband of 51 years, and a daughter, Katrina Snow. Ellie was also the devoted mother of Chris and wife Cathy (Fort Myers, FL), Karen Householter and husband David (Manhattan Beach, CA), Stephen and wife Kathleen (Hingham, MA), and Peter (Sterling, AK). Ellie is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 5, 2016 at the Orleans United Methodist Church, 73 Main Street, Orleans, MA with a reception immediately following in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie's memory to the Nauset Youth Alliance.
