
Emily Constance Porcari, the daughter of the late Teresa and Alphonse Salusti, was born in Pietrogallo, Italy. At age 9 she and her family moved to Orange, Massachusetts where she completed her schooling, graduating from Orange High School in 1939. Known for her exuberant smile, she was an engaging storyteller and talented mimic who entertained her family with stories of her childhood experiences in Italy and adjustment to her new life in America. After graduation she began a career as a corporate and legal secretary until her marriage to the late Joseph Porcari, Sr. who was an executive with the Union Twist Drill Company in Athol. Emily was an enthusiastic amateur cook known for her Sunday dinners. She loved socializing with her family and friends, bridge playing and travel. While living in Athol she was a member of the Petersham Golf & Curling Club. After retirement to East Orleans with her husband she was a member of the Orleans Women's Club.
Emily was predeceased by her husband and a brother, Dr. Joseph Salusti. She leaves a sister, Mary Bruno of Tampa, Florida, her children, Joseph Porcari Jr. and Mari Porcari, both of East Orleans, two granddaughters, Antonia Porcari and Maya Abel, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial service was private. A memorial service is planned for September at Broad Reach in Chatham.
