Eric L. Calder

Eric L. Calder of Orleans, formerly of Chatham, died on February 22, 2017 at the age of 64. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Eric was born in Hartford Connecticut and raised in Chatham, MA. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Richard and Lee Calder, and his brother Brian.

Beloved husband of Kathleen, father of Paul and his wife Laura, and grandfather of Olivia and Carson Calder. Son-in-law of Ben (deceased) and Jean Burnie. Brother-in-law of the late Jack Burnie and his wife Sylvia, David Burnie and his wife Roxanne, Jean Murphy and her husband Brian. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Eric earned an M.B.A. at Bryant University. He had a career in health care administration.

An avid cycler and skier earlier in his life, he loved the Cape beaches, his family, and his beloved dogs. His quiet kindness and dry sense of humor will be missed by many.

He attended the Brewster Baptist Church.

A wake will be held at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

Eric was appreciative of the compassionate care he received from the staff at Cape Cod Hospital and the Hope Hospice program at the McCarthy Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Hospice Program, 73 Service Rd. East Sandwich, MA 02537.
