Freeman C. Hatch IV
Freeman C. Hatch IV of Eastham passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 of pancreatic cancer at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. He was 82 years old.
Freeman served as an officer for the Eastham Police Department for a number of years. His true craft was as a carpenter, building numerous homes including his own. Throughout his life, he found great joy in duck hunting, stamp collecting, sport fishing, playing cribbage, mah jong, and cheering for the Red Sox, but most of all this family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Claire E. Hatch, and his parents Rachel J. (Kruschwitz) and Freeman C. Hatch III. He is survived by his sister Paula J. Dessi of Eastham; his children Christopher Hatch of Eastham, James Hatch of Biddeford, ME, Matthew Hatch of Eastham, Johanna Hatch (Evan Creed) of Verona, WI, Miranda (Kevin) Stewart of Horsham, PA, William (Patty) Caron of North Eastham, and Charles (Linda) Caron of Mooresville, NC; long time companion Jean Torppey of Eastham; and numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews across the country.
A graveside memorial will be held on August 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM followed by a reception at the Eastham Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ducks Unlimited or Cape Cod VNA designated to the McCarthy Care Center.
