Gerald J Ricard

Born on November 17,1953 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Gerad and Cecile (ST. Jean) Ricard of Tyngsboro, MA.

Jerry graduated in 1972 from the Lowell Trade and Vocational High School where he studied electrical and was an Apprentice Electrician at Ronnie Electric where he honed his skills.

He continued his career as a Journeyman Electrician at Joan Fabrics in Lowell, MA where he met his future wife Susan (Hibbard) Ricard. They were married on January 18,1975.

During their marriage they had the pleasure of welcoming four children into their lives. Three sons, Gerald, Christopher and Shawn, and a daughter Keri.

Jerry and Sue enjoyed spending time with their family and friends camping, fishing, hosting BBQs, as well as coaching their children’s baseball and softball teams. He was very much invested and involved with his sons scouting where he made great friends and made a positive impact on the community. Jerry always extended himself on many people and was there to help when needed.

Jerry was passionate about the electrical trade who became a Master Electrician in 1982 and created Ricard Electric Inc. He passed on his extensive knowledge to his employees, including his own children who provided a wide variety of electrical services across New England for many years. In 2015, Jerry semi-retired to Cape Cod took pleasure in passing his legacy and influence on to his son’s electrical business.

Jerry was always proud to share stories about his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Jerry also formed a special relationship with Shawn’s brother-in-law Duke Chamberland. Jerry was preceded by his loving wife Susan A Ricard (Hibbard), sister Estelle Judd, and brothers Robert and Paul Ricard.

He is survived by his sons Jerry Ricard Jr of Allenstown, NH, Christopher Ricard and his wife Danielle of Hanford, CA, Shawn Ricard and his wife Angela of Orleans, MA, and his daughter Keri Ricard of Orleans, MA. His grandchildren Andrew (Ender), Isabella (Bella), Christopher, Laurel, Benjamin (Benny), Nathan, Zachary.

Siblings Claire Mendonca of Lowell, MA, Rita Ricard of Lowell, MA, Theresa Brown of Lowell, MA, Ester Briand of Exeter, MO, Susan and her husband Timothy Wareham of Smithsburg, MD, Cecile and her husband Michael Tandus of New Ipswich, NH, Henry and his wife Elaine Ricard of Westford, MA, and Nancy and her husband James Gaudette of Dracut, MA.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 17th from 4:00-7:00 PM and a Celebration of Life will occur on Tuesday June 18th at 10:00 AM at Nickerson Funeral Home located at 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653. The Ricard family invite friends and family to the Hog Island Brewery located at 28 West Rd, Orleans, MA 02653 immediately following the Celebration of life.
