

Jim was president and owner of Bay State Circuits. In 1962, he started Bay State Circuits in the basement of his house with his brother Bill. By 1973, he had moved the company to a large facility in Northborough that he built himself and left his full time job at Fenwal Corporation to focus on Bay State Circuits. Jim was a member of the Northeast Circuit Association traveling to many trade shows throughout the United States and Europe.
Jim’s true passion was building. His proudest projects were the homes he built in Framingham, where he raised his family, and Eastham, where the family continues to come together, especially in the summer.
Jim was born and raised in Framingham where he lived for 60 years until he retired to his Eastham home in 1997. He graduated from Framingham High School in January, 1945, and then entered the U.S. Navy. Jim attended Northeastern University at night where he received a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1962.
He was an avid pilot of general aviation aircraft for more than 20 years, a regular boat enthusiast on the Cape Cod seas, and an active member of the Framingham Sportsman’s Association and the Nauset Rod and Gun Club in Eastham.
He was the son of the late Marcella and James Ducey of Framingham. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosarie Anne (Edwards) Ducey, and his brother, William Ducey of Framingham; his children, Patricia Ducey of Alexandria VA., Kathleen Garvey and her husband Mark of Farmington CT, Jason Ducey and his wife Georgette of Southbridge MA, David Ducey and his wife Kathryn of Whitinsville MA, and his daughter-in-law, Laurie Ducey of Kingwood TX; his grandchildren Marnie Benney, Sean Garvey and his wife Alison, Kate, Megan, and Anna Garvey, Michael, Nicholas, Erin, Patrick, Delaney, and Timothy Ducey.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, James M. Ducey, his sisters Helena Powers, and Mary (Molly) Downey.

Calling hours for friends and family are from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sep. 26, 2014 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, Canal Road, Orleans at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. Burial will be private.
